My return to dating!
I set out on an indefinite hiatus last year and honestly, it was very nice.
There is something about ‘no dates’, which allows a girl to just be.
It is without a pressing scheduled wax appointment, it is sipping on a latte while noticing an overdue manicure but without the stress, it is the tranquility of non-constant travel, it is glancing through the latest newsletter from Agent Provocateur while completely dazzled and yet, able to skip on the extra expense because without dates, well it is simply not too justified.
In such aspects, the relaxation was very palpable, however, there were many other aspects that I quickly began to miss.
I should start by sharing that I don’t normally date, and if I ever entertain the idea, I’m pretty sure it feels like such a foreign concept that I end up calling the person “a civilian”, though not to their face.
You know, someone in a different realm of a better adjusted societal normality who may have zero idea of the type of courting, appraises, pleasure and fun that gals like me have so normally adapted to.
I mean really, I hear horror stories from friends sometimes and I think, “Geez, if those are the alternatives, no thanks! I much rather eat cake and sip bubbly.”
And this is where you come in… my darling, my patron wooer, my confidant of hedonistic stories, my pourer of bubbly, my tantalizing daydreams in the flesh, my ‘too-good-to-be-true-pinch-me-boyfriend’!
The memories of being swoon by you are too great to erase and too wonderful, that I could easily complete a sexy scrapbook over a glass of wine any day!
The truth is, women need to be caressed, spoiled, ignited with laughter and aroused by fascinating stories.
A woman needs to be romanced -making the stressors of the world much more manageable and insignificant.
We both come alive when we can leave the mundane behind and focus on the aliveness that pervades the space between us, as our bodies get closer to one another. I love it when your mind leans into the softness that I bring to the table.
In other words, I missed you!
I soon realized that although the wonder and peace of my solitude is invaluable, there is also something so special about receiving a note from you, whether email or text, whether with a gift card or a simple ‘Hello’, undoubtedly adding a certain sparkly je ne sais quoi, but knowing that you make me smile greatly while adding a sense of peace, elatedness and excitement to my days!
And that, is worthy of returning to!
I hope to see you very soon,
xo
